Swisher, Iowa homeowner, Curtis Graham expands his living area with new windows from Home Town Restyling. The Graham’s live in an 8 year old home and found that their builder didn’t use energy efficient windows. They were experiencing cold drafts and condensation during the winter months and excessive heat coming through the glass in the hot summer season. They also didn’t like the “basic” window styles the builder chose and wanted some character and a bigger feel.

The Graham family turned to Cedar Rapids based Home Town Restyling to help solve their problems. Beau Butterbrodt – the project manager helped the Graham’s design a window combination that would create the “openness” while keeping in mind energy efficiency. This is something we find a lot of homeowners want to do when replacing windows and don’t want to just settle for what the builder put in. Installed were a bay window, garden window, casement windows and double hung windows manufactured by Sunrise Window Company sold exclusively through Home Town Restyling.

By adding a beautiful open Bay window in the kitchen and a garden window over the sink, they created a dynamic feel that makes the area feel larger, lighter and interesting. All of the windows were replaced using Home Town Resyling’s Omega 12 glass that cuts down 95% of the UV rays using the multiple coats of Low E and Argon gas. The R ratings of the window master frames have been increased to a R-22 which is unique to The Sunrise Windows.

During the installation the homeowner couldn’t believe the transformation of their home. They knew it would be different, but never imagined how drastic of a change it would make. This has already made such a big difference in southern windows replaced that they want to replace the sliding door with an energy efficient door to complete their remodel.
